ESIIMI JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Esiimi Preschool was opened at Mugana, Missenyi District in March 2012. Esiimi Primary School will be

launched in January 2013. Both schools will be English Medium day schools.

Our mission is to give back to the community.

The schools aim to promote academic, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils, and prepare them for good secondary, technical and tertiary education, to take advantage of 21st

century opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life in Tanzania and beyond.

Justification:

In the past, rural areas in Kagera boasted of better schools than urban areas, they produced local, national and international leaders; this is no longer the case with the current rural-urban divide. Rural primary schools are performing miserably, churning out badly prepared secondary school entrants, who fail to perform well thereafter.

We believe Esiimi Schools will provide a good foundation on which to build good quality secondary and tertiary education, will promote parental upbringing during early formative years, decongest public primary schools in the area, attract and retain employees in local rural institutions (who would otherwise transfer to areas with good primary schools), positively influence existing local primary (and

probably secondary) schools, and contribute to the socioeconomic wellbeing of the area.

Location: The two schools are located within ten minutes walking distance from each of the following: Mugana Parish, Mugana Hospital, Nyakijoga Shrine, St. Magdalene School of Nursing, Ruhunda

Trading  Centre.  From  the  latter  “taxis”  depart  for  Bukoba  every  30  minutes;  the  journey  takes  less

than half an hour. The area has reliable electric supply.
