BUKOBA PUPILS EXCEL IN STD 7 EXAMS

A total of 2,104 pupils who sat Standard Seven examinations in the municipality of Bukoba have been selected to join Form One.

The Deputy Bukoba Municipal Education Officer, Mr Edwin Fande, said here recently that out of the number, 1,104 are girls and 1,000 are boys. He said that a total of 2,373 pupils were registered for the exams but only 2,352 appeared.

The remaining 21 absconded for unknown reasons. According to Mr Fande, the rate of success in the municipality of Bukoba increased by 3.3 per cent from 86.1 per cent (in 2011) to 89.4 per cent (last year). He said Bukoba Municipality scooped the top position among the eight districts in the region.

He named the best schools that excelled in the Standard Seven exams as Rumuli, Zamzam and Bilele which are government owned. Private schools included Adolf Kolping, Karume Day and Kaizilege. Schools which fared below average are Kagambakamoi, Mugeza Mseto and Kahororo.
